About Our Client

My client is an industry leading Telecoms company operating on a Pan India basis with scope for Global expansion. They are currently looking for a Head – IT Sourcing (Procurement) to lead the purchasing of IT Software, Hardware and Licensing as well as contract negotiation. This is a high profile, decision making position that will be capable of adding real value to the organisation.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain this role leads the strategic sourcing activities for Information Technology spend categories such as Maintenance, Client Services, Hardware, Networking and Software Licensing and , with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, while maintaining/improving product quality and supplier service levels. The incumbent will work closely with key stakeholders to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.

 

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

• Act as a liaison between Information Technology and corporate sourcing procurement department in ensuring application of policies, processes and inclusively practices relating to contract administration and risk management

• Applying operational and commercial TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) levers to reduce cost and managing contracts with suppliers

• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as any internal policies and procedures

• Lead cross-functional negotiating teams targeting key spend categories

 

• Collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize procurement goals and objectives

 

• Develop and implement commodity strategies and establish and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure successful implementation and support

 

• Develop RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, SOWs, KPIs and SLAs for all major areas of spend Drive improvement of procurement efficiency and effectiveness based on Six Sigma guide lines

 

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers (Global/local/regional) on price, lead time, quality and service for multiple services and commodities

• Implement and manages FMS contracts level projects, programs and process improvements aimed at increasing internal contract administration customer service levels

The Successful Applicant

You will be a graduate in Engineering with 8-10 years experience in IT Sourcing from an IT, ITES or Software background. You must be capable of challenging and pushing back to the business surrounding their purchasing requirements to reduce cost a much as possible.
